UnWaste Recycling Events are a fantastic opportunity for municipalities, schools and other organizations to help their communities  by offering a great free service, protect the environment, help us to divert thousands of pounds of waste from our landfills, all while assisting their own causes. Our Unwaste Events have benefited California school districts and various non-profit organizations by helping to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations.

What does UWM, Inc. require from its sponsors / partners?

In order for a Free UnWaste Recycling Event to be successful, UWM, Inc. requires three important outreach / support items from our sponsoring partner. They include:

1. A centrally-located venue. A properly sized and located venue, as determined by agents of UWM, Inc., is essential to the success of a Free UnWaste Recycling Event. These locations must be paved / level and be large enough to facilitate "one-way" traffic flow. Some ideas which generally work well include high school parking lots, community centers, or City Hall parking lots.
2. A commitment to thoroughly saturate your community with event announcements by fulfilling the tasks on our Comprehensive Outreach Plan: Our outreach plan is an effective grassroots marketing campaign that is critical to the success of a Free UnWaste Recycling Event. The most important task is contacting your city to asses weather you can gain event notification, to all city residents, through municipally sanctioned mailings such as utility bill inserts and citywide newsletters. Of equal importance to your events success is securing city permission to post our UnWaste event banners in high traffic areas, the timely distribution of event fliers, advertising the event on billboards, and dispersing press releases / public service announcements to all local print, T.V. and radio media. Once your event is approved and scheduled by your UWM, Inc. Collection Event Specialist, you will be provided, via e-mail, all the necessary tools and document templates to insure success.
3. Six (6) to twelve (12) volunteers. The majority of your volunteers should be prepared to assist in achieving all objectives on the comprehensive outreach plan. Three or more, may be onsite at all times during the event to greet the participants and solicit donations for your charity/cause.
